I worked for a superior recently who was very delusional about his own skills (which were outdated to the point that he was extremely reliant on me). I thought I was helping him when would try to teach him. He wanted no part of it. He was the CFO and I was the Controller. He was not a CPA and it really bothered him that I was. I did not realize I was throwing his deficiencies in his face when I would try to get him up to speed on things. The tension between us eventually led to me leaving the position. Lesson learned. Next time I'll just let my boss believe he whatever he wants. This is a very good article.
