Everyone can either imagine the life and the career that you want or you can imagine the limits that hold you back from attaining you goals. That’s how powerful your imagination.

Imagination breeds creativity and creativity lifts one up from dull and boring routine of life. What a great tool we have been blessed with and forget to use. As children, we imagine countless things and as we become adults, we begin to settle and we forget to imagine. Imagine all the possibilities and the limitlessness dreams that are locked within us.

the teacher gave us a research report assignment, with a specific number of pages. I had so much to write, that I wrote small to fit it all in. The teacher told me if I “over did” any future assignments, she would grade me down for it. It is important to do your best to deliver what is wanted. It is important to know what is expected, and to meet those expectation

Hard work and intensity is good as long as it is in balance. Some companies won’t hire a person who doesn’t show some balance in his or her life through hobbies, social affiliations, and volunteering.

Focus and being present in the task at hand - definitely that is good advice. Yet, I recall Albert Schweitzer, who was able to pursue multiple professions at the same time - successfully. I believe people can succeed or fail using either approach. While Schweitzer's activities varied, his mission tied them together - he was serving people. His career as a musician was to fund his mission work. His pursuit of medicine was to heal the people to whom he preached. It isn't so much doing one thing as having clearly defined goals, and being able to balance and assess priorities.

Which approach is right depends on what career or careers you pursue. Of course, in law, the ability to focus in extreme detail is critical, but in more creative professions, the second approach is much more productive. The key to success lies in determining the relevance and productive yield of the activity to the end goal. In the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, Stephen Covey diagrams the four quadrants that illustrate how to determine the priority of any activity.
