First I was moved and inspired, and that was in the first quarter of the post. I'm definitely in chaos in my company right now, but it is growing in ways I never imagined when I started. You put words to concepts that I have always gotten but never had the thought to break down and verbalized before. This is creating openings for me to see so much opportunity in my business and life. You are amazingly eloquent and dead on!

As a woman in business I can see that I succeed where I embrace chaos. It's funny, I can also see where why I fail (sometimes repeatedly) in business OR personal affairs b/c I want more order after dealing with all the chaos.

Thank you for this post. It is and will continue to be a huge contribution to me and many people around me both personally and professionally.

Good points, we all need to embrace chaos in the current environment, get outside of ourselves and our shells and get going. Not everyone will like or appreciate it, but so what. Keep moving.

Perhaps you should have explained to the person in detail what to expect. Most of the time people can’t control giving off non-verbal clues when they hear something that they do not like.

You're exactly right about chaos as a sign of growth.

My company recently (about six months ago) brought in an outside person for a brand new position to develop long-term plans, strategize, and restructure. Everyone knows each other and at first he asked difficult questions -- "Why do you do this? Why can't we do it a better way? Wouldn't this be more efficient?" -- which ruffled some people who had settled into comfortable ruts.

Every time anyone complained, he said, "If you're not growing you're dying, and if there's no conflict you're not growing."
